Chocolate Decadence Cake
  
Ingredients:
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 1/2 cups butter, melted
  • 1 3/4 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 7 eggs
  • 2 cups whipped cream

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 10 inch round pan and line bottom with parchment paper.
  2. Chop chocolate squares and place in a large bowl with chocolate chips. Add melted butter. Heat water and 1 1/2 cups sugar in a saucepan until boiling, then pour over chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip eggs with remaining 1/4 cup sugar until thick. Fold into chocolate mixture. Pour batter into 10 inch pan.
  4. Place 10 inch pan on a cookie sheet in the oven and fill the cookie sheet with water.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 to 50 minutes. Remove from oven. Cool and refrigerate for several hours. Be extremely careful not to burn yourself on the hot water when removing the sheet pan from the oven.
  6. Dip the pan in hot water to remove cooled cake. Garnish with whipped cream and serve.

Steak and Pepper Kebobs
  • 1 Tb lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 tablespoons shoyu
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 1 pound beef sirloin steak, cut into 1 inch cubes
Directions:
  1. In a bowl, combine the first nine ingredients; mix well.
  2. Pour marinade into a large ziploc bag.
  3. Add beef, seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight, turning occasionally.
  4. Drain and discard marinade. Use soaked wooden skewers to thread beef and vegetables.
  5. Grill or broil for 6 to 8 minutes till desired doneness. Baste with a little butter or broth if desired, and turn once during cooking.



Sweet Potato Fries

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. peeled sweet potatoes, cut into sticks
  • 1/2 tsp rosemary
  • 1Tablespoon parsley
  • 1 tsp salt and pinch of black pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425*. Dry potatoes with paper towels, and use hands to toss with oil to
  2. coat evenly.
  3. Toss again with seasonings and place in a single layer on a baking sheet, so pieces are not touching.
  4. Place pan in oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Use a spatula to gently flip the fries over, then return pan to the oven and cook for another 15-20 minutes or until fries are starting to lightly brown. Remove from pan and let cool 5 minutes before serving.


Garlic Chicken Stir-fry

 
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons Peanut Oil
  • 6 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated Fresh Ginger
  • 1 bunch Green Onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 pound Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts, cut into strips
  • 2 Onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sliced Cabbage
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups Sugar Snap Peas
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons White Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
Directions:

1. Heat peanut oil in a wok until it begins to smoke.
2. Add 2 cloves minced garlic, green onions, ginger root, and salt.
3. Add chicken and stir-fry until chicken is no longer pink.
4. Add remaining cloves minced garlic and stir. Stir-fry 1 minute.
5. Add sweet onions, bell pepper, Chinese cabbage, peas, and 1/2 cup chicken broth.
    Stir-fry 2 minutes.
6. In a small bowl, add soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and 1/2 cup chicken broth.
7. Add sauce mixture to wok. Stir-fry 2 minutes.
8. Serve immediately, over hot rice if desired
